WANT TO GENERATE REAL CHANGE? March 5, 2009

Update from YACVic
——-
WANT TO GENERATE REAL CHANGE?
Generate is for young people aged 17 to 25 who believe our generation can end extreme poverty and have six hours a week to help make it happen.

Created to fit around work and study, Generate is an eight month volunteering program where we provide you with the training to make real change.

Generators will be campaigning to end extreme poverty by fundraising for Oaktree’s overseas projects, running events, lobbying the government and raising awareness in the community.

PLATFORM YOUTH THEATRE – FAITH, DIVERSITY AND DIFFERENCE
Workshops will begin late March.
Our major production for 2009 unpacks these words `Faith, diversity and difference’ from the point of view of young people of specific faith groups living in a secular society. Stage one research, consultation and script development culminates with a first draft reading end June.

Writer Adam J. A. Cass is working to create the performance text and will be informed by several story telling and performance making workshops. Stage two involves presentation of a final work which will be directed by Caitlin Dullard and presentation is scheduled for early December 2009. If you’re interested in being involved in a workshop, happening late March, email rose@pyt.org.au.
