WEBSITE DEVELOPER WANTED
Project to develop a website that will empower and inspire young people to make informed choices about their drug-taking behaviour.
Position Description
Volunteer 1-2 days per week in Melbourne (days flexible) from late March until June 2009 (dates flexible) to support the Reach Out Interactive Manager and the team behind Reach Out (www.reachout.com.au) and the Ted Noffs Foundation (www.noffs.org.au) develop a new website for young people.
We are currently developing a new website to empower and inspire young people to make informed choices about their drug-taking behaviour, primarily focusing on Amphetamine Type Substances (ATS) and also alcohol and cannabis. It aims to foster a community spirit and encourage sharing views and opinions about topical issues
This position would suit a third or fourth year student under 25 years of age, studying in the social sciences (in particular, psychology, social work or nursing) or in communications. Such a position would be advantageous for a student seeking to work in the not-for-profit or health care sectors and interested in pursuing a career that encompasses project management, education and training and/or marketing.
Key Activities/ Responsibilities:
· Project and administrative support
· Writing and editing of website content
· Liaison with health care professionals and Inspire staff contributing to website content
Skills Required
· Sound communication skills; both written and verbal
· Must be able to work independently and be self-driven to complete projects and daily tasks
· Able to work collaboratively in a team environment
· Able to manage time efficiently, especially in terms of balancing study, work and internship at the same time
· Enthusiasm to make a difference to the lives of young people
